Little girl found chained after she was sold to marry a little boy

A 12 year old girl with her ankle chained was found beside a road in a village (Valu lui Traian) near the Black Sea in the south-eastern part of Romania.

The Romanian authorities were shocked after they had received a call from a man who said he had noticed a little girl with a chain bound to her leg by the road. The girl was found after she had run away from her home. She was crying. She said that she had been locked in a barn. The police learned that she had also been sold the year before to another family to marry their under aged boy. She ran away away a few times so her parents decided to tie her with the dog's chain. She finally managed to escape again. When found by the authorities, the girl had a black eye. The child is now in the care of The Social Security Administration.
